The Bible makes an interesting statement in John 15:13- Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. Around Valentine’s Day it seems we hear a lot of talk about how great our love is. We say we have a love that is deeper or greater than this or that. In the above passage Jesus gives us the means of demonstrating a great love. Let me ask a simple question – Do you have a great love for Jesus? He has a great love for you and demonstrated it when He died on the cross for your sins. Do you love Him enough to lay your life down for Him? It takes a great love. Is this the love we have for Jesus? I think the valentine He would love to receive from us would be our lives laid down before Him in surrender and service. Today, let’s show Jesus our great love for Him.

New Website & New Address

Look for the all-new and improved First Baptist Church Website to be launched in the next few days. And notice ... the Website address is changing too! We will become www.FBFirst.com. The new site will include up-to-date event information, easy to use forms in ordering service DVD copies and signing up forms for upcoming events and classes. In addition, the Quick Reference Guide will pull down to reveal all the categories you're searching for. Daily Devotionals, messages from our Pastor, Live service and event streaming video will be augmented by services and events found and easily accessed to watch when you want to see them.

Plus, new categories that are designed for new guests to our church loaded with information about us, directions to find us, parking, and what to do once you come in our doors.

There's also a category for inviting friends to join us which gives you the opportunity to email and invite them to come.

"Getting Involved" is the job of each member at First Baptist, and the Website lists the committees that can use your help with the name of the contact person. Volunteer and let's work together to further God's Kingdom here on Amelia Island and around the world.

Souper Bowl February 7th

The 44th annual Bowl game will be shown in the Family Life Center following our evening service which starts at a special time of 5:30pm. All are invited to come and bring their favorite Big Game snacks and food including, chili, soup, stews, cheesy stuff and sweets.

Let's party together and have a great time!

Family Movie Night Goes "UP"

Saturday, February 13th, FBC presents Family Movie Night with the motion picture, "Up", an animated comedy
adventure about 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to South America with the help of 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.

Doors open at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center and the movie begins at 7:00pm. Admission is free.

Students - Catalyst

A catalyst is a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change.

February 19-21, Catalyst is coming to First Baptist Church. This is going to be out first major event of 2010.
This weekend will have everything, crazy rec, meaningful missions, dynamic worship, and along the way there's
going to be some life changing truths... You're going to want to be here, and you're going to want to bring a
friend. Maybe you can be a catalyst in the life of someone you love.

FDSL Softball

First Baptist is in it to win. But regardless, they're in it for the fun. The Family Driven Softball League plays each Saturday through April 10th (no games on April 3rd for Easter). Here's our team's schedule through February. The complete schedule is on the Website @ FBFirst.net.
